As a mom who has her own business and works from home on a part-time basis, I am often asked how to go about finding part-time, and especially work from home, opportunities. In truth, there’s no easy formula.

But there are many opportunities to work part-time in a professional capacity at a company or as an entrepreneur and to make a fairly lucrative salary. While there are some inherent risks, there are some huge rewards:

  • Flexibility
  • More time spent with family
  • More time to focus on other interests and opportunities

There isn’t a lot of information on being a professional part-time working mom and that needed to change.  Moms should be able to find a resource when they’re thinking through they’re career.  It’s not only SAHM and working full-time.  And Mompowerment was born.

The book idea evolved over lots of coffee dates and conversation, interspersed with parenting discussions, searching for babysitters, non-profit and for-profit work, and the usual conversations about how to balance work, family and relationships. I’ve learned something from every single interview that I’ve done! It’s been interesting, sometimes surprising, occasionally eye-opening, and never dull, talking to this varied group of women who are figuring out how to manage family, relationships and career in today’s world!

I can’t wait to share the stories and the insights from these amazing moms. These moms are living proof that you can find a career that fulfills you and provides income, but doesn’t keep you at the office from 9 to 5 (or usually later) every day!

I work part-time for the balance and flexibility it gives me. What’s in it for you?
